Safeguarding

Safeguarding the children is our top priority at Nursery. We have a duty of care for all the children at the setting to make sure they are safe, secure and have a high well-being so that they can relax and enjoy their play and learning.

Nursery has a legal duty to report concerns if a child or vulnerable adult may be at risk of harm. We work with our local safeguarding board (OSCB) to ensure the best practice and training is in place for our staff and any regular volunteers.

INTERNET SAFETY for children: How do we ‘teach’ internet safety to young children?

The Oxfordshire Safeguarding Children Board have tips and advice here: https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/cms/content/internet-safety-advice, and here are a few starting points:

Thi

Supervision – enjoy time together watching stories or looking up facts: so you can supervise the content rather than leave your child alone with devices: this will enrich their learning too by talking with you

Learning about and make use of parental controls on devices

Limiting screen time

Keep devices out of bedrooms, and limited screen time before bed time as well.
